A Joint Project between the ICT Register and TASC Software

Data Driven Improvement using Target

Target is a new analysis tool from TASC Software that delves into your attendance figures and comes up with the story of what’s really happening behind that all-important headline attendance percentage.

You know your percentage. You can even name your worst absentees. But what about those “under the radar” factors which are more difficult to spot and yet are probably even more damaging to your overall record?

Target is a graphical tool designed to specifically analyse, monitor and display attendance data - from simple performance overviews to detailed investigations.

Target produces comprehensive graphs for analysis of attendance data with minimum effort.

• Quickly gets to the root causes of attendance issues

• Makes direct comparisons with preset targets

• Easy comparison of various types of absence

• Quickly identifies vulnerable pupils whose specific attendance problems might otherwise be masked in overall figures

• Provides evidence for management strategies and self evaluation

Target provides management support for strategists and practitioners - at every level:

The project this year

TASC are willing to support 4 schools that are looking for such a tool and are happy to install and use Target over the next year. The software will be provided free of charge in the first year and at a discounted rate in the following years for those schools who agree to become ambassador schools for the software.

Schools commitment

In return the schools will be asked to provide a case study about the implementation and impact of Target in their school, enter a service about Target on the ICT Register Website. They may also be asked to work with a writer and feature in a case study about the implementation of the product over the four schools. There is also a possibility that this will feature as an article in the educational media. The case study will be required by the end of Autumn Term.
