Who was involved in the project?
Islington CLC working in partnership Islington CLC and EMAS advisor Mark Thompson

Project Outline
This project involved a selected group of Year 9 Central Foundation EMAS boys; the aim was to increase motivation and encourage deeper engagement with the curriculum. The project applied cutting edge smartphone technology, innovative software and a learning trail in an authentic context. The project would take boys out of the school environment to follow a learning trail accessed by a smartphone internet browser.

The Project Outcomes:
The project was a 100% success in that it motivated learning for well over an hour and a half, the students were actively engaged with the lesson content and fulfilled many the learning aims. The majority of students completed all the tasks and collected media to demonstrate understanding, support their answers and inspire further work. Parts of the trail presented activities where the pairs had to be collaborative - to discuss, follow instructions and work together, this worked very well.<ber>
