Overview of project

Optimum Reports Ltd is interested in working with 10 primary schools to help develop their O-Track, online tracking and reporting tool.

What is O-Track?

O-Track is an on-line Pupil Progress Tracking and Target Setting system for Primary, Infant and Junior schools to track their pupils through KS1 and/or KS2. The powerful reports [1] feature allows schools to automate their assessment documents that are usually done manually in school. For general information visit their 'o-track' pages. [2]

They are looking for schools who have strengths in tracking pupils progress to help them understand the current practice; currently track pupils manually to see if they might help.

They will offer 10 schools, either individually or as clusters, free access to their software for 12 Months from September 2009.

Scope of Project

During the Summer Term 2009 schools will be given access to the online Tool and the necessary training (by arrangement and normally after school). Schools will be asked to use the O-Track software during the academic year 2009/10, to provide feedback and write up their experiences as a scenario. It is assumed that schools will provide feedback during the natural course of the project through their interactions with Optimum Reports. Formal feedback will be requested not more than 3 times during the year. The scenarios will be displayed jointly by Optimum Reports Ltd and the ICT Register.

Optimum Reports Ltd’s commitment

They will offer 10 schools access to their online tracking tool, free of charge for the academic year 2009/10. In the event that a school is unable to complete a scenario then the school will be given the opportunity to pay for the access. On completion of the project, schools who wish to continue with the tool will be offered a 20% discount on the appropriate annual subscription.

School's commitment

Produce feedback on the product and a scenario on completion of the activity. Place a service or edit an existing service on the ICT Register to include a mention of the software. Include the activity in the updates provided by schools at their regional meetings. Participating ICT Register schools will need to identify

1. a ‘group’ to participate in the activity. The group will use the software to meet the objectives of the project.

2. a single contact point to be responsible for ensuring the progress of the development activities and the production of the scenario.

ICT Register’s commitment
