From ICT Register Wiki
A Joint Project between the ICT Register and iTeachers
What is iTeachers? URL – www.iTeachers.co.uk
iTeachers is a complete ICT scheme of work and software training tool for primary school teachers. Over 200 video tutorials (iLessons) which give you click by click visual demonstrations of everything from using Microsoft Word to produce Victorian style art to using PowerPoint as a branching database. Not only will your teachers and TAs develop superior ICT skills, but these skills can be applied directly to their classroom teaching. All resources are simple to use, easy to replicate and assume no prior knowledge.
"iTeachers is the most effective ICT provision we have ever experienced. Our pupils are learning essential skills every day within normal lessons without even realising it."
Lauren Connor - Headteacher Moredon Primary School
The Project this Spring and Summer Term
iTeachers are looking for a maximum of six primary schools to take part in this project. This could be a family of schools or a group of schools working together. The commitment of iTeachers is to enable the school to use the product free of charge until July 2008, provided they complete the necessary feedback. Schools will be able to continue with the product thereafter at a considerable discount provided schools are prepared to be ambassador schools and enter specific services regarding the use of iTeachers on the ICT Register. Email and telephone support will also be available via iTeachers.
Schools commitment:
The commitment of the school is to:
• use and integrate iTeachers into the every day teaching of ICT across KS1 & 2;
• feedback to iTeachers & fellow teachers on the benefits of using the tool by writing a short scenario;
• feedback to iTeachers on any improvements teachers would like to see.
Timescales
The software would be made accessible to schools from February.
There will be 0.5 Days training to be negotiated between the participating schools and iTeachers. This could include Staff Meetings if required.
Scenarios will need to be completed end of the Summer Term.
