Who was involved in the project?
50 Year 9 Gifted and Talented students selected from 5 of ourNetwork schools.
Kings Norton CLC

Aims and objectives of the CLC

  • Improve access to, and use of, the latest education technology for pupils, teachers and the community;
  • Increase attainment levels through use of that technology;
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning; and
  • Act as test beds for innovation and new ways of working.

The Project and its Aims:
This was a pilot project aimed at G&T students who were trying to make the difficult and importantdecisions about their GCSE subject choices. History is a major curriculum focus for us and thisprogramme was developed, by our Deputy Manager, in response to concerns of visiting Historyteachers about how best to recruit their most able students to History GCSE. This was also an opportunity for G&T students to work with students of similar ability, from otherNetwork schools, something that rarely happens in our schools.The CLC at Kings Norton does a great deal of work with students who need to be re-motivated to study, this was a chance for us to judge the needs of students who need academic rigour, and to determine whether we should develop a specific G&T programme.
