Aim of project

This project aims to develop exemplars of good practice for incorporating Easi-Speak across the curriculum and highlighting its use in supporting learning and teaching.

Project guidelines

There are no set guidelines as to how schools should use the Easi-Speak. Schools will be able to use them in as many innovative and creative ways as they wish to support learning and teaching. TTS are happy to help schools identify a project or activity should this be required.

Schools taking part in this project will be required to provide feedback both positive/negative on using the Easi-Speak and to write up their experiences as a scenario. The scenario will exemplify how the equipment was used to support their chosen activities and how it supported children’s learning. The scenarios will be displayed jointly by TTS and the ICT Register.

Each project or activity that is undertaken must have a clear learning outcome and show how they have made the project easier/more interesting/inclusive etc.

Timescale

Up to one month

Schools on the ICT Register will be invited to take part in this activity.

TTS’s Commitment

TTS will offer 5/6 schools up to 3 Easi-Speak free of charge. In the event that the school is unable to complete a scenario then the school will be given the opportunity to pay for the equipment or return it.

School's commitment

1. Produce a scenario of good practice and/or feedback on the product.

2. Place a service or edit an existing service on the ICT Register to include a mention of the equipment.

3. Include the activity in the updates provided by schools at their regional meetings.

Participating ICT Register schools will need to identify

• a ‘group/class’ to participate in the activity. The group will use the easi-speak to meet the objectives of the project.

• a single contact point to be responsible for ensuring the progress of the development activities and the production of the scenario.

ICT Register’s Commitment

To administer, promote and support the project with schools.

Time-line

Projects and activities should aim to begin after February half term and all scenarios to be completed by the beginning of the Summer Term. During Summer Term Scenarios will be uploaded onto the ICT Register Website. During Summer Term schools should adjust their services to include their use of the hardware.
