Highly commended at the BETT Awards, Early Vision’s fantastic Play Packs take children on little ‘video visits’ to real life locations that link to popular role-play scenarios. Children are able to see what the surgery or office looks like, watch what the people actually do in the course of their work and listen to the vocabulary and terminology they use. This information not only enables them to take part in the creation of their own role-play areas but also provides them with the knowledge and understanding on which to base their own role-play taking it to a much higher level. ICT Register TrialEarly Vision has provided 11 ICT Register Nursery Schools with a different play pack during the summer term 2008 free of charge. Each participating school will complete a Scenario (Story) about how they used the pack and the perceived learning outcomes for children. Each play pack includes a comprehensive Digital Handbook containing a wealth of photographs, plans, ideas, lists and suggestions for extending children’s learning across the whole curriculum. The play packs cover topics such as Pets The Doctors The Greengrocers The Police Moving House The Train Station The Airport The Post Office The Garden Centre Ourselves The Cafe The Chinese Take-Away The Garage
